Sony is preparing a $200 overclocked dock for the PSP 3. GPU and support for 4K 120 Hz

Sony plans to release a new standalone portable console, the PSP 3, codenamed Canis, alongside the PlayStation 6 desktop system in late 2027. The key addition to the upcoming Sony PSP 3 portable console could be a proprietary docking station, priced at approximately $200, that implements a hybrid switching principle between mobile and desktop formats, similar to the Nintendo Switch. The accessory will enable video output to TVs and monitors in 4K resolution at a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, as well as overclocking the graphics processor in desktop mode to 1,65 GHz, a 37,5% performance boost. The docking station will likely be equipped with HDMI 2.1 ports, USB-C, a wired Ethernet network interface, and support for direct wireless connection of the PlayStation 5's DualSense controllers, as well as the upcoming DualSense 2 gamepad for full control on a TV.
